Family Atlas

Family Atlas is a series of 35 sheets measuring 150 x 140 cm each that documents and organizes my family’s photo album archives, comprising over 1300 photographs. Through this process, I explore how memory is documented, preserved, and organized through photographs, and how these images serve as a lens through which personal and collective histories are recorded. The series traces the evolution of my family’s history, from Korea to Venezuela, as my father emigrated in the early 80s and raised a family. It reflects on migration, the role of photography in capturing familial identity, and the broader cultural shifts of time and place.
